On sunday February 23,2014 the duty crew for the day placed Engine 172 staffed with a total of 5 with one. The crew started the day with PM checks and house duties. The crew ran a few medical calls then were alerted for a brush box in Co.40’s area on defense hwy. Engine 172 responded and arrived and was assigned fire attach. The crew stretched the front bumper line along with the red line to start knocking the fire from the hill side. Bc-3 arrived and assumed command. Tanker 3 arrived and connected directly into E-172 until the fire was controlled. Command held units for about 45 minutes while they moped up. Around 4:30pm fire alarm transferred E-172 to Co.7 while Engine 73 was transferred into PG County station 19 while PG units operated on a house fire in Glenn Dale. While we were transferred we ran a house fire in PG County and was cancelled enroute and ran a child locked in a vehicle. Engine 172 returned to station 17 around 7pm.
